Breweries Join Forces To Brew Special Beer For California Camp Fire Victims

Breweries across the United States have come together to brew a very special batch of brew with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the victims of the devastating Camp Fire.

The first batch of the Resilience Butte County Proud IPA was brewed by Sierra Nevada on Tuesday with 100% of the proceeds dedicated to Camp Fire relief efforts. The brewery is also sharing the recipe with other brewers across the country and urging them to brew a special batch to help.

"We are proud to announce the upcoming release of Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. We will be brewing Resilience on Giving Tuesday, November 27 and donating 100 percent of the beer sales to the Camp Fire Relief Fund," Ken Grossman, Sierra Nevada wrote on the company's website.  "In addition, we are also asking every brewer in America to brew Resilience and do the same."

Brewers across the U.S. signed up in droves, with breweries in Oklahoma City, Miami, and New York City, checking in to show off their batch of the Resilience IPA on Twitter

"We are working with malt, hop and yeast suppliers to provide raw ingredient donations to all participating breweries and are asking those breweries to donate 100 percent of their sales to the fund, as well," Grossman detailed in the post.

The company even drafted Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea, to help them start a batch of the Resilience IPA.

Sierra Nevada, is based in Chico, only a few miles away from the town of Paradise, California, which was devastated by the Camp Fire that burned earlier this month

More than 1,000 breweries across the U.S. were quick to pick up the recipe from Sierra Nevada and brew their own batch of the Resilience IPA.

"We know that the rebuilding process will take time, but we’re in this for the long haul. Our hope is to get Resilience IPA in taprooms all over the country to create a solid start for our community’s future," Grossman wrote.

The company hopes to begin selling the brew by December 17.

Sierra Nevada has set up a seperate relief fund for the community, aside from the proceeds from Resilience IPA. The brewery launched a relief fund with an initial $100,000 seed working with the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation.
